Did you even have a shot on goal in the first 30 minutes? How can you say that?
Did you watch the first 30mins at all Liverpool was running around chasing the ball. We should have taken advantage of that.

I did. I'm just saying I didn't see you threaten goal.
Let's keep the convo in the game thread so we don't have to go back and forth.

TFM just inked a new deal until 2020
Also the u-23's looked good in their draw vs Liverpool last night even with Liverpool playing Sakho and Ings.

Looks like Bailly has ligament damage in his knee

we got destroyed. lot of overreaction imo. now, of course i expect more from the team but it's very early in the season still and we are in the middle of a gauntlet that no other team has had to deal with (so far).
don't forget city on wednesday

What is wrong with Henrikh that he's not playing? He's way better than Rashford, Young, and Lingard.

he's been injured although i think he's finally health now. his few cameos have been pretty underwhelming imo and he seemed physically outmatched, but once we're through the gauntlet i think he'll get more PT

When you see Miki's not even named on the bench for a league cup game...

Got out of that brutal stretch with only one loss. Now let's get all three this weekend

Schweiny back in training. Kinda odd. Not like Mourinho to completley change his mind. Maybe showing some flexibility and some maturity admitting he was wrong.
Or, as some others think, maybe he's just getting him fit so he can sell him. He's only registered for the premier league as far as I know.

He's filling the roster vacancy left by Herrera after his red card. WIthout another ban or injury, I'd be shocked to actually see him make the bench or get any game time, as I'm sure he still sits behind Fellaini, Carrick, Schneiderlin, and Pogba in the Mourinho's CM order.

Nope bc Riley and Tuanzebe both are now training with the first team

I meant in the center of midfield. Neither of those guys would fill for Herrera as a CM.

This shite is frustrating
No consistency what so ever

RIP
Dominated possession but I can't remember an actual legit chance.
Gonna be a grind of a season.

Mourinho has a huge job on his hands. We've finished 7th, 4th, and 5th in the last 3 PL seasons. One could easily argue this is the biggest challenge of his career.
Looking at our squad, our two main strikers (who are at least currently being played in that position) are a 35 year-old and Rooney (a 30 year-old going on 35); we have number 9s and 10s playing on the wings for the most part (Martial, Rashford, Mata, and, rarely Mkhi) with only Young and Lingard (arguably) as our only true wingers; we have a converted winger as our starting RB; we currently have 2 LBs at CB; Fellaini as a deep-lying midfielder; and nobody is really sure where to play Pogba to get the best out of him.
For all the money we've spent, there are some real issues with the squad. I'd like to see Mourinho consistently playing players in their most natural positions and letting them move on if they aren't good enough. That would mean some tough squad choices and possibly resting Ibra more often in favor of a Rashford or Martial.
The idea that we need to retool the squad to the extent we do is scary. But we have to be honest about where we are at the moment. And I think we're in a place where we have no choice but to give Mourinho patience, time, and the trust that he's the one to get it right. I honestly think he needs a couple of years and several windows, and we'll have to deal with some disappointment along the way.
