honestly, you're asked to do a lot more in the middle of the field, but for me it's easier than playing outside. More options, you're never asked to do too much.

On the wings(RB and RM) it's very easy to find yourself isolated without any support, you're either asked to beat someone one on one, or just boot it down the field. you need a totally different mindset playing outside, and it's obvious Cameron doesn't have it just yet.

Agreed. I played for years on the wings. As I've gotten older, my speed is going (or has gone ), so I play centrally more.

I'm more comfortable in the center now than on the wings. Speed of thought needs to be higher, but speed of motion is less important. You can be successful in the center with a decent first touch, putting yourself in the right place, and weighting passes properly.

Cameron has amazing body position. He lets the ball role between he and the defender so often, and is in a good position to look up and make a play on the ball. He has great technique for a man his size. Also he's quite athletic. I like his drive from midfield. He's hard to dispossess.

In the EPL, he'd be an amazing ball-playing CB. As a DM I was impressed with how much ground he was able to cover. I thought the first goal was a perfect showcase of his ability. He comes back to win the ball off the opposing player, and then makes a quick, simple forward pass to Bradley, who drives through midfield to help set up the goal. If he can continue playing like that it would be hard to justify playing Jones over him. Also it gives us options to play a three man midfield if we ever had the need.

@rogbennett: Geoff Cameron lucky Tony Pulis no longer manager of Stoke. TP would not like this deft, visionary, intelligent midfield display at all

Sums up my feeling on Cameron as well.

I just wish he would have scored that header from 30 yards out.
