Seriously though, they have no standing military. It would be easy. All we need is to plant a flag. Combine their talent and ours, we will dominate.

Anyone else on board?

I'll take Cambell

But something about Ruiz pisses me off...

I like Borges as well. Ruiz is definitely good though, but yea, he annoys me too.

Man, you guys really hate your hypotheticals around here. Y'all really shouldn't take the internet so seriously.

Plus, it would be to win the entire World Cup, not just a match. So, pretty much worth it at this point i would say.

Soccer Board is super serious apparently. Very elitist attitude I've noticed.

No kidding. I'm starting to remember why I don't post over here.

Try and lighten the mood after a tough match, ponder some manifest destiny, and get chastised for it.

Your hypothetical is dumb on multiple levels. Yes, it is pretty stupid to think about invading countries to absorb athletic talent.

However, even if we were to entertain this little scenario, you seem to be overlooking the fact that U.S. territories like Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands have their own national soccer teams.

Therefore, one could only conclude that if the U.S. were to take over Costa Rica, it would still have its own national team.

We should invade Mexico just to prevent them from having a soccer team.

I haven't overlooked this at all. Those are U.S. territories. I'm not proposing making Costa Rica a US territory. They become part of the US, a state.

Negative.

Oviedo would fit in at left back rather nicely.

Yep it's one if the main reasons admins are talking about getting rid of it after the World Cup and only having it around every four years. They're talking about just putting a sticky thread on the MSB and keeping all the soccer talk in that thread. Especially too when you have several posters that are straight up dicks to admins too.

It will be interesting to see what will happen in a few weeks though
