So I'm the only one annoyed by the fact some of our players can't even suck it up and speak English when participating in an US soccer documentary?

I work for an American company (with significant stake in Europe and Asia), and I feel like a first rate dumbass for not being conversational/fluent in more than one language.

I mean, I could find a bathroom and order from a menu in French and Spanish - but I can't hold a conversation.

You sound like a jackass.

Yeah, I don't like how low he is on Donovan as well. I would be pissed if Donovan does not play every minute. He should be considered in our top tier of players. I do not know of Jurgen believes that.

We definitely have all covered a lot of this shite on this board, but I enjoyed it in visual form. I feel pretty positive about everything except for the take on Donovan and the draw made me sick.

I liked Kyle's letters to his mom as a cute fact about the team. The Julian Green recruitment process was awesome. I am glad Terry Green got camera time because he is an American hero. I also did not realize how tight Klinsmann and Dempsey were. That explains the captaincy better.

I think the biggest question right now besides who makes the 11, 18, and 23 is what formation should we go with against Ghana and other games. Do we roll with the diamond where Bradley could be world class and maybe Kyle's discipline, but we risk getting carved up by superbly athletic teams or the 4-2-3-1 that is quite familiar likely with Jones in the pivot with Bradley? They both have their pros and cons, and I have no idea which I like more.

Looking forward to part 2 with up to date footage on camp.

Yes, because you should know all of them can speak English. Context is important.

That makes it even worse, if you can speak English why in the world wouldn't you in a documentary made for English speaking people?

And if ESPN made them, wtf are they thinking? They are trying to brand this to the mainstream who pay attention to the sport once every four years. The mainstream American sports fan wants to watch a team of Americans and get behind the cause from a patriotic standpoint. Having half the team speaking different languages in your pre-tournament branding is a fantastic way to keep those people at bay.

Again, context is important.

That part of the doc was about those dual-nationals that you hate so much and how they are bringing different cultures into the national team of the United States, one of the most ethnically diverse countries in the world.

How? Because we're mericans and English is the only acceptable language and NASCAR and beer and whatever other ridiculous shite the people who could possibly be turned off by American players speaking other languages? Those people aren't going to tune in anyways
