Preemptive CSB

My son is 7, and has officially caught the soccer bug.

I brought him to his first Bundesliga match last night (Frankfurt vs Hamburg). Despite some very sloppy play by the home team, he had a great time and can't wait for his next match.

His favorite sport is still American football, but I'm glad he is getting more and more passionate about Fußball! It was great to see.
Proud father.

Frankfurt has a great stadium and insane fans glad you guys had a good time.

When ever I watch them they are always sloppy like last night

If you are driving to that area id recommend Mainz. They usually play a much better brand of soccer.

Yeah Mainz is more fun to watch, but is a longer drive. Ive gone to several Kaiserslautern games without him (their fans are a bit much) which also has a nice stadium.
My goal is to take home to a Bayern Munich game before we leave Germany. But that is a little harder to pull off.

The family section is on the other end of the stadium. I suggest sitting there for FCK games. Get away the rowdiness.

My season tickets were in section 5.2

Take him to an 1860 match if he has diarrhea but you still want to see the Allianz.

Serious question, off topic ...

How's the Syrian migrant crisis been there? Have you noticed a lot of migrants milling around?

Not the place for that talk

I've seen some of them around in Germany last time I was there, but isn't not like hole shite. They were there when I was living there a few years ago. But it was more out of sight out of mind.

serious answer:
I live in a village of ~4000 folks and we took in about a half dozen families. Germany as a whole has taken just over a million. That would be the equivalent of the US taking over 4 million. So, there is going to be some impact when the equivalent of >1% of your population is added in a short period of time.

That said, we haven't had any problems with them in my town. Neighbors have gone out of their way to help them assimilate. They're all enrolled in German language classes and are trying to learn the culture. I've interacted with them in the bigger cities, and they've always come across as very polite and thankful. I think they realize the fragility of the situation.

As for milling around... I don't see Syrians milling around more than Germans, French, or Turks. Nothing noticeable. The real effects won't be known for years, though.

All in all, no issues.
