Ecuador need to score, while being down a man, and have Honduras get a goal.

Ecuador's speed is really giving France trouble. France look vulnerable this match, considering they were arguably the strongest looking team in the WC through 2 group play matches.

It just hit me how close Ecuador was to getting through. Without that 90+3 goal by Switzerland that broke their tie, Ecuador would be on 5 points right now and Switzerland on 4. Even with one French goal, they would have goal differential.

Benzema & Giroud can't take advantage after a bad turnover by Ecuador on their 1/3rd of the field

With Roy Keane's general history and history with large, French CMs, he probably would have slapped him in the tunnel. It's not like he was a stranger to sabotaging his and his country's WC dreams

The 93rd minute goal, France allowing 2 late goals to the Swiss while up 5-0, going down to 10 men today. Really unlucky.

Ivory Coast and Ecuador both looking like losing points in stoppage time will cost them a place in the second round. Hopefully this isn't a case of things happening in threes

The keeper goes down for a minute while in stoppage time, and the ref doesn't add any time?

Hoping Germany approaches tomorrow similar to the way France did today but I know they won't.

It wasn't that France were playing for a tie at all. They had attacking players, they were pressing forward, taking shots, not time wasting at all. They just couldn't break through, big credit goes to Ecuador, especially since they were down a man for 45 minutes.
