First time traveling to Europe and i'm going to a soccer game. Flying into Amsterdam, and at this point my choices are Ajax, PSV, Lille, Frankfurt or possibly one of the Belgian teams advancing in the Europa league, which we'll find out this week and very unlikely. Might be difficult to get to Ajax or Alkmaar or Frankfurt in the round of 16 game assuming they make it unless its a late game.
I do not want to go to a lower tier game. I wish i was going a day earlier and could go to Dortmund, but i'm not getting there until sunday march 15th.
The most ideal game travel wise for me to go to would be Sparta Rotterdam vs Feyenoord, or Lille vs AS Monaco, but i really don't care to go to either of those. If i go to Ajax, which is late at night but the game i really want to go to, then i have to take the train early in the morning to get to where i'm going to for work in Belgium. It would suck sleep wise, but i really don't care about how tired i might be.

Can i trust buying from Viagogo or Stubhub? the team sites say do not buy from there, but i've seen plenty of reviews that said they bought on there and had no problems.
ALso, both, Viagogo and Stubhub show PSV playing on 3/15, but PSV's website and a few other sites show the game on 3/14. Makes me not want to trust buying tickets from Viagogo/Stubhub.

Any suggestions on buying tickets, things to expect attending games?

like McBro said buying from the club is always the best route

viagogo and stub hub are basically the only secondary market sites you can trust

but when buying off them there might be some extra shite bc you could be using someones season ticket.

Clubs don't issues tickets for every game for their ST holders of Members. Instead you get a card. So you might have to pick up that card and return it later.

i noticed some of the tickets on stub hub said "electronic delivery" and some said "local pickup".

Do you think i should suck it up and go to the Ajax game knowing i'll be dead tired monday morning, or go to Sparta Rotterdam, or Lille game, as those are the two most convenient games for me, unless the Europa league draw works out for me. I don't mind going to Gent or Bruges if it's a Europa League game.

I feel like that's like coming to the US and going watch a college football game at Bowling Green if i go to Sparta Rotterdam. I'm looking for an ideal european soccer environment.

The most ideal scenario would be for Ajax to advance in the Europa League and play on the Thursday night, but they have some ground to make up since they are down 2-0 going into the home second leg. my work ends that day and i'm free to do what i want the next few days, although the wife and i are going to Paris since that's where we are flying out of.
PSG isnt' playing while we are there, and the only close one would be Lille vs Monaco, but i'm not that into going to that one.

Sucks that i'm not close to any of the champions league games being played the tuesday and wednesday. PSG/Dortmund would have been an easy one to go to either, but they play the week before i go.

I've been to matches at Lyon, Marseille, and Strasbourg, FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo and the best game experience I've had was at a tiny club called Hammarby outside of Stockholm.

Aren’t PSG home tickets pretty hard to get? I could be wrong, but I thought their home support was actually really solid.

If Lille is @ Monaco that should be an easy ticket. Their stadium is always half empty.

It depends on who the match is with PSG

one of my fraternity brothers just went sunday and got tickets a week out. Bc his company in London sent him to Paris for the week.

Their ultra sections will always be packed tho

I’ve had some success contacting the club directly and explaining that I’m coming from the US and am looking for tickets. Usually you can find an email address on the club website.

I did that with PSV. Waiting to hear back.
Their site says they play Saturday, yet stubhub and viagogo say they play on Sunday.

I did it with another club in Holland (Nijmegen) and they had tickets waiting for me at the gate, essentially.

I really want to go to the Ajax game on the 3/15 a sunday, but with how late it is, it's a bit worrisome.
I have to be in Antwerp for 8:15am Monday morning.
There's trains that start leaving at 6:15am from Centraal and arrive in Berchem at 7:50, which should be enough time for me to get to my hotel meeting spot. Don't want to be late on the first day.

My other choices are Lille later that week on Friday or Rennes on Saturday. Or I could go to Sparta Rotterdam earlier in the day that Ajax plays on Sunday the 15th, which would be really ideal from a time standpoint for me, but i feel that venue won't live up to my expectations.
Still need to wait and see what happens today with the Europa League.

Really didn't think this through when i booked the flights. I should have came in on the Saturday. Could have flown into Paris and gone to the PSG game, or could have flown into London and gone to plenty of Premier League games. what i really wish i would have done is flown into Glasgow and gone to the Rangers-Celtic game. That is a my dream game to go to.

Well it looks like i'm either going to Ajax on 3/15, or Lille on 3/20.
I guess i could go to the game at Antwerp on 3/15, which is where i need to be on 3/16 in the morning, but i really wanted to go to a great stadium. Lille doesn't really fit that bill either. It is the last day of the season for the Belgian League, so it may be a be crazier if there's something to play for.

The problem i'm having is trusting to buy tickets on Stubhub or Viagogo for the Ajax match. The Ajax site says they are sold out, and everywhere else says don't trust the 3rd party sites.
Any suggestions on if it should drop $300 on 2 tickets from Viagogo and risk it?

After looking through train schedules and everything, i think i'm going to go to Stade Rennes on 3/21. They play Lyon, is only 2 hours from Paris, and i can actually get back to Paris that night, as we fly out the next day. problem i was finding with a lot of the games is they are so late in the evening, there are no trains after the game to get me back to Paris. This game is at 5:30 local time, so plenty of time to get back, and they actually have tickets available on their website.
