You should have seen Dani Alves licking his lips when Neymar was on stage.

I still think Rakitic should be in the TOTY.

I would agree with this, but then again Busquets is never going to make these teams because dumbass national team captains from Bhutan and Burundi can't name XI players outside of Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar.

Balon D'or voting is incredibly faulty in that the vote of a national team captain from Vanuatu counts the same as Jogi Löw's. And there's way more Vanuatu-type voters than actually informed voters.

Obviously, one of Messi and Ronaldo should probably win this award until the end of their respective careers, but the World XI is also selected by meaningless constituents. It was probably a more fair assessment when the Balon D'Or only went to European players and was decided by France Football magazine.

But, I also like that Javier Mascherano has increased his total to three first place votes this year.

LINK to see how Pakistan's coach and other football giants voted

Also, Messi and Ronaldo's ballots are hilarious.

Just a few things I noticed:

Vanuatu voting Paul Pogba #1
Malasia and Senegal voting Yaya Toure #1
Sudan had James in the top 3 but not Messi

Michael Bradley - Messi, CRon, Suarez

Guess we are only voting for our teammates:
Neymar - Messi, Suarez, Rakitic
Lewandowski - Robert Neuer, Vidal, Müller
Cristiano - Benzema, James, Bale

The captain of the Philippines is Younghusband Philip James
