Of course they showed up to the euro but their soccer support especially at home is lacking compared to the other sports.

there was a big article on SKYsports from one of the Former Irish internationals, who stated this is the glory years, they have to take advantage, because the youth are wearing Irish rugby jerseys, not soccer jerseys. And they have lost many of kids to rugby that would be in the soccer youth teams.

when i was there for the game last year talking to their supporters groups i got the same vibe.
Supporting soccer for alot of fans is a trendy type of thing if they are doing well. Not the hardcore support found in other sports.
