However, AS Roma fans know the real reason behind that blunder is Alisson just signing with us

I didn't know that was happening. He's a freaking machine.

Roma may loan Alisson for one season but the deal has seemingly been done since last fall with the official announcement coming a couple of weeks back.

That blunder tonight may convince our management he's 100% Roma ready right now though . . .

Seriously though, he seems pretty good and Roma has needed a long-term number one for a while after a lot of strikeouts on guys like Stekelenberg. . .

What's scary is Dr. Joe is a national grade instructor for our USSF professional grade referees. He is so fricking wrong so many times it is not funny. He is so full of shite too.

I think the point is that the official was already blowing his whistle as soon as the flag went up -- before the ball made to Alisson. It does seem that way from all the players' reactions. .

What does that matter? If the AR thought the ball was out, then nothing past that point matters.

There's only 2 possible thing that the AR could have put his flag up for at that moment: offside or the ball crossed the end line. Both should be called quickly.

Yeah, the whistle being blown makes no difference about whether the call will be made.

However, the point the match commentator made was that hearing the whistle may have affected the way the players (Alisson) finished the play.

The commentator's point though is that you can't really say it was "a clear goal waved off" since the goal itself happened after the whistle and--unlike the flag which the GK did not see-- the goal may have happened because of the whistle affecting the GK's response.
