Brad Evans turns and shouts something directly at the keeper--I'm sure it wasn't "happy birthday!", so I'm assuming that's what it was.

If you were watching the whole game you'd see that was the final straw. Both teams were kinda going at it the final 10 mins.

If you watch and re watch slowly you see Brad Evans take at least 3 kindey punches. One dude straight up kicks him while the ref is preoccupied. Neagle gets punched too. It's an art.

The foul was about as clear cut as can be so i hope not complaining about that

No. My complaint is the assault on Brad Evans by Olimpia players after the penalty. Souza, and Estupinan should be banned from the game.
