It's up in the Pacific Northwest (the SEC of American soccer in terms of passion)

-Major city that doesn't have relevant teams to compete with; Seahawks , Mariners? , Sonics...

-Nice and cold and far away from Latin America and the Caribbean.

- This can also pretty much sums it up

-I know bringing up rotating sites will come up but no.... though I'm not against special occasions in D.C. or Philly and such.

Nobody but you actually wants to go to a USMNT game in Cincy or wherever it is. Seattle should be our own version of Azteca without the piss balloons and prison shanks.

I think qualifiers should rotate between a few cities like Seattle, Columbus, and D.C. I'm sure there are some other places that will turn out good crowds that I just can't think of right now.

But the crowd at Rio Tinto on Tuesday was pretty poor especially for a WCQ.

I think it would be good to try friendlies at different places though to see what fan bases really show out for the team.

Seattle crowds are the loudest and show a lot of passion. I have no problem playing key games there.

I think in the future anytime we play Mexico in a qualifier at home it should be in Seattle.

No.

Why only play in one stadium and city when there are plenty of worthy cities to play WCQs in?

I disagree with this completely. Consistency is key to creating a ferocious home crowd advantage. Creating a permanent home would also mean Sam's Army and the American Outlaws making official headquarters in Seattle and growing it into a fervent fanbase that could sell out the arena, make wicked awesome tifos and unique chants with the same crowd each time. Moving it all over the place just means being a Team USA fan and going to as many games as possible is simply a financial nightmare.

Sorry to bring my inner-Gump out here, but a Legion Field type deal would work. Play the big important games in Seattle and go on tour for less significant match ups and friendlies.

It would alienate and cause financial nightmares for a large portion of the US fan base. You think people from NY, DC, KC, Columbus are going to want to go to Seattle every WCQ when they all are strong fanbases in their own right and are also great hosts for the USMNT?

Hell, the atmosphere in KC was fantastic last year and it'll sure be good this time around.

You said you disagree with what I said but that's exactly what I suggested for friendlies.

Because those cities make the atmosphere boring as frick on TV. If I'm turning the game on, I want to feel like I'm at the real thing, not watching in the public library.

A lot of countries have a national stadium...I made a thread a while back where we half-jokingly, half-seriously discussed "Our Wembley".

I'd be all for playing major matches in Seattle, but there are a few (just a few) other places that have good crowds. RFK was pretty good for the Germany friendly.

So the atmosphere at Sporting Park is boring to watch on TV?

I was half trolling there. To be serious, what you said WSE is what I'm talking about. It'd be silly to only ever play in one spot, but I see no problem with a "national stadium." I think it would work wonders on the team psyche, having a fortress-type venue. A place that they'd get to play at when they knew they were running into a brick wall. Hell, just listening to the post match interviews you could tell the players were jacked from the crowd. Bradley even went as far to say that it was the greatest crowd he's ever played in front of in the stars and stripes. We need to utilize that.

And he hardly gives praise to anyone or anything.

If Seattle was in the middle of the country or was one of our biggest cities/capital, this wouldn't be a problem, I don't think. I mean, Seattle was freaking awesome for that qualifier and they weren't even allowed to sell out. Imagine how a packed NFL stadium would be for an international match.

I don't mind going to other venues that have a great atmosphere...but nothing here is going to really touch Seattle. That's where our biggest matches should be from now on, IMO.

But I'm cool as long as we never go to effing Cleveland ever again.

I like Kansas and RFK being included. Other than that, the rest of the country is pretty underwhelming.
