No way US Hoofball will win this World Cup. Find me a team that won it all by hoofing it.

USWNT needs to focus on Columbia then the Cameroon/China winner before they even think about possibly playing Germany. This team doesn't look any better now than they were in January.

Germany now has two players with more goals this WC than the USA team as a whole. Just destroyed a Sweden team we couldn't do anything against. They look good. On the other hand, they only played one decent team in group play and will likely need to beat the number 5 (done), 3, and 2 teams in the world just to make the final.

Anyone know why the Chinese coach is suspended this match? Would that have any bearing on a possible USA China match?

For the way the announcers were acting about the attendance for the Germany/Sweden after they said it was a sellout, I thought they were about to announce 50-60,000. Instead, it was about 22,400. Of course, when you're having games in a metropolis like Moncton, New Brunswick and in brand new venues like Olympic Stadium, what can you expect.

Did the Brazilian coach really complain about the fact that Australia was a higher quality opponent than they should have played?

Yeah..he did. It's silly looking at the field and considering the way the US disposed Australia.

Absolutely amazing France-Germany game. One of the greatest womans games I've ever seen. Frick FIFA for arranging this so it was a quarterfinal game.

It really was a match worthy of the finals as there may not another as well played nor as dramatic.

However, the handball call for Germany and no-call for France was really unfortunate since France dominated the vast majority of the match.

I agree, but after that inexplicable miss by Thiney in extra time, I think that Germany was destined to win.

England beating Canada 2-0

and England isn't that great

maybe them having a legit pro league run by the EPL clubs is paying off.

2-1 at half

Seemed like momentum shifted dramatically after that sticktuitive goal by Sinclair. Loved the intensity she showed trying to get the crowd going.

Canada seemed very skittish before then. If indeed they settled down, it could be a first in women's soccer history at the World Cup (speaking of coming back from 2-nil to win).

I don't see it happening, save through penalties.

I've watched England play a few times. They're the third best team I've seen behind Germany and France. They've looked better than we have. Their players have swag, they'll shoot from anywhere. They're actually fun to watch. They'll face Germany for the final imo.

Even with Germany missing that one girl because of a hyper extended ankle? I don't think Germany ooutclasses the U.S. that much.

Unless France is just ungodly good Germany doesn't outclass us at all. They could barely touch the ball against the French.

I'm for Japan now. Only team I've seen that plays with creativity.

U.S. Team is terrible to watch. But with an average age near 30 what more is to be expected.
