Götze on the trying to rebuild his image with BVB path right now.
Maybe he'll lose some weight and leave his purse at home for them.
quote:
"When I transferred from BVB to Bayern in 2013, it was a conscious decision that I don't want to hide from today. Three years later, and being 24 now, I look at my choice differently," Goetze wrote on his Facebook page.
"I can understand that a lot of fans couldn't comprehend my decision. And I wouldn't do it over again. When I now return to my home, I want to win over everyone -- especially those who won't welcome me back with open arms -- through my performance. It's my goal to play my best soccer again. For everyone, the club and the BVB fans."

I look at his decision to drop half his 37M on schnitzel and sausage differently now, too...
The deal in 2013 never fully made sense to me...its biggest effect was breaking up BVB's super-potent attack, which sadly isn't the reason to do a deal IMO.
Even when he first came aboard, it was still Mandzo up top, with Robbery and Müller behind in most XI's. Mario was never going to get a true starting role, unless there were injuries (which did happen with Ribs/Robben)
Bayern got a worse rap when Lewa came over. In reality, Götze's was the shrewder deal; Lewa was just good business.

I'm probably just bitter, but it'll take a whole lot for them to love him again. The Dortmund fans we met around the Europa Quarters despised him with every ounce of their being. And I just don't see him getting back to his old self. He was incredibly disappointing in the Euros.

Only if they slap Make America Great Again on it.
Franck and David's relationship is a real treat, by the way.

Love seeing #37 in there
Provided they don't sign a backup striker, Green may be serviceable in Cup matches, etc...and that's admitting that he's been fairly poor up front so far, outside of the 45 mins against that dogshit Inter defense. I still think with the squad behind him, he'll find opportunities.
Give him his chance this year, and if he still can't deliver, it's time to move on.

Visiting New Orleans for the weekend in from San Antonio- Finns a good spot to catch the Bayern match? Seems like that is the big place in NOLA.

SouthtxAg...sorry I'm just seeing this, hope you ended up at Finn's, that's where our supporters usually watch but we're not always there on Saturdays.
Speaking of our group (Mia San Nola)...Paulaner flew one of our members to Munich for the opportunity to train/kick around with the club. Pretty cool opportunity!

No matchday thread yet...but Carlo is finally busting out the 4-2-3-1 against Mainz today...worth noting
ETA: Apparently doesn't matter, Bayern's high back line surrenders 4th min goal
And Robben>Lewa for the 8th min equalizer
