Won't believe it until its on Arsenal.com.
I don't think we get Suarez.
I will be confused if we get Bernard. Means Gervinho is gone and Ox is our new central midfielder. Means we won't be getting a DM. We need a CB, but I have a feeling that without adequate cover for both CB and LB, we will just keep Miquel around.
If we somehow get both I'd be so confused.

gervinho is gone. to Roma. should be official this week. I think he is moving The Ox to CM. that's been the plan all along, and maybe AW feels he's progressed enough to do it. unless Bayern wants to sell Goose (they don't), i don't see the point of getting any other DM out there. next year, the market might be better (Leverkusen with Bender, Bayern with Goose, etc) but no one in this market is exciting at all. I'd be very glad if these moves meant no Fellaini. we need creativity, Bernard definitely gives that. extremely exciting young talent. i'm also cool with keeping him out of Liverpool or Tottenham's hands.

if we drop £20m on him and £40-50m on Suarez and still need absolutely need a defender, then there's no DM.

Just going by numbers. Wenger doesn't really believe in a DM employed solely to break up opposition attacks. Ox at CM means its highly unlikely we won't buy someone in that area.

So Suarez, bernard, and a backup CB (and/or gustavo) is a perfect offseason.
I obviously don't expect that but at least bernard + some striker + some random french CB is my level headed prediction

well, I don't think we get him, but that's kinda silly. seems to be big in uruguay and is followed by many of the soccer journos I follow (for whatever that's worth).
I mean, if one were to similarly criticize the Liverpool board's optimism you would laugh at "he's training hard!!!" (so did rvp, cesc, nasri, et al...they trained so hard until the bitter end!) or "BR/Liverpool says he's staying!" (links to articles on Reina after Mignolet, torres, etc) or "he wouldn't do this to the fans, we have a special relationship!" or "but he said he wanted to leave England!" (people never change their minds).
again, don't think it's going to happen. pessimistic me believes higgy to napoli then RM has funds to go after Luis. somewhat realistic me is hopeful we can get higgy. the slim slice of optimism in my body has enjoyed these last couple of weeks, though it is sure to be a let down, eventually.

Well you forget one thing..he's still a Liverpool player.
I'm happy he's training. Doesn't mean I think we'll keep him. He won't go to Arsenal though, unless a huge fricking offer comes in.
