im saying you would really take your season, over finishing 2nd in the premier league? I mean I get finishing 4th in the PL, but 2nd is a pretty good season.

2nd is a great season but pretty much the goal of every club in the top six is to win the league.

When that's not possible anymore it's to get champions league and pick up silverware along the way.

a lot of what you say makes sense, but to act like united isn't about to shell out the same, if not more, money this summer than city is insane.

jose wanted bernardo, bernardo wanted pep. i highly doubt the wages offerred by one club or the other was the deciding factor.

There are already rumors that United were on the trail for Mendy as well and Mourinho allegedly dropped a line about 'the opportunity to play w/ Paul Pogba' and talks went to complete shite.

Of course a club with the prestige and money like United make it attractive

City have had to sometimes pay higher wages to make up the gap to get players

It's all part of the game

are you trying to say that was the case with bernardo silva?

arguing with you is like arguing with my wife. neither one of you all are ever willing to concede anything.

Yeah, I mean we just let go of Zabaleta, Clichy and Jesus Navas who were all on 90K a week haha.

And Sagna was on 80K

City's performance based contract for basically everyone is a good way to make the wage bill look lower than it really is. It's risk but it works if your players shite the bed.

I'm pretty convinced Pep CANT build a squad so I look forward to the nex couple of years.

At the end of the day they have performed worse this year than last, and there is no positive light to spin it IMO

I hated him anyway, but another thing that grinds my gears is how he (like almost every foreign manager) moans about the Christmas schedule. It is not a new thing, everybody knows it happens so stfu and deal with it. You have a squad worth hundreds of millions of pounds but can't cope with a game every 3 games for a month period?

Pass me a £50 note to dry my tears

I seriously hope nobody actually believes this. City had 66 points in the league last year. The team were so bad they had the same number of points at the end of the year as United.

I think the difference with Spurs is that they were clearly a much better team than Man United were this year. Can't say the same about City at all.

Well Pellers did get farther in Europe and won a trophy the year before.

Both him and Pep had to clinch top four the last day of the season.

And Pellers did it in his final season. Pep took over an aging squad, changed the system, totally upended the culture and day-to-day operations and did a solid job.

It's hilarious how hard you have to stretch to say Pep isn't a top manager.

Overall? There can be an argument.

When they were in form and semi-healthy, City were great. The team progressed over the season but our lack of depth killed us. On paper I like our starting 11 against anyone. We had zero depth though. We were old as shite and relying on players past their prime. That's what separates good teams from great ones and that's what Pep and Txiki will address this summer.

If there is one complaint I've had with Txiki, it is that he doesn't know when to move on. Yaya came on strong at the end of the season but we could have had sold him for some quality bench players last year. Same with Zaba.
