Got certified when I was 15 and reffed for a few years and just got my certification back and have my first few games today. Looking forward to getting some good, easy cash but definitely not looking forward to a few hours of verbal abuse

I'm not a grade. Don't need one for high school, don't care to do club or rec games while I'm assigning.

I passed the grade 8 test about a year and a half ago.

I verbally abuse referees (as a player) , if that counts.

Players don't bother me as much as people in the stands that don't have a clue what they're talking about

I try really, really hard NOT to verbally abuse referees as a coach.

They make it hard sometimes.

Hahah I understand it in a heated game or if it's just a terrible call. I've never minded admitting I missed a call and coaches usually appreciate that. Today was very easy and laid back. Reffed 3 U15 games. 2 as an AR and probably only called 3 offside total. A lot of kids in position but the rule change that they have to play it really lowers the number you have to call.

The number 1 thing I ask of referees is just to be willing to talk with me and explain what you saw. If you are a competent referee, you can defend your call and that should be all a coach needs to hear.
