2022-23 La Liga Thread

La Liga pre-season has already started as several teams have already had pre-season matches. Real and Barcelona head to America for friendlies this week alongside Juventus.
Promoted teams include Alemeria (Saudi ownership), Girona (owned by City Football Group) and Real Valladolid (owned by fat Ronaldo).

I think the biggest headlines heading into the year are:
5) Will Laporta, Tebas or Perez say some crazy, off the wall shite to get headlines?
4) Can Villareal win the ECL and continue their impressive European run?
3) Will Simeone add another trophy to the awards case at Atleti? (he's won 8 in 11 years)
2) Is the revamped Barcelona squad good enough to not be embarassed in European play?
1) Can Real Madrid win the Champions League again?

Real Madrid might as well be Brazil at this point.
Sure wish Real could unload Hazards worthless arse. Is he old enough to go to the MLS yet?

El Clasico tonight on FS2 at 10:00. I can barely catch the 9:00 PM MLS games, maybe watch the first few minutes. Question is do the players GAF about this match?

Players won't care, but it'll be a chance to see some young guys.

Europe is screwed. Just looks that's starting and what's on the bench.

Hazard wouldn't start for a usl team. I would trade him straight up for a 45 yo wondolowski. At least he lucked in to goals.

RM is going to need to find another striker this window. Without Benz it's going to be hard to score enough to win the Copa Espana much less the CL.

If this Dembele shows up in the season watch out.

Rough start for Barca. Looked like they expected to walk Rayo. Very impressed with their defense. It's crazy the difference between the two clubs.

Rayo has Barca locked down.
IIRC it was after Rayo beat Barca last year that Koeman got sacked.

Rayo beat them twice last year. But Barca had a 4-0 Clasico. Makes sense.

I think Real and Barca are gonna score a lot this year. Big question is who will finish 3rd? Can Villarreal keep this up all season)

I admittedly don't watch much La Liga, but I swear every time I turn it on this year Rayo are breaking down one of the big boys.

They play up to the big guys. Especially Madrid who they hate but they are so inconsistent.
