I'm curious where you saw those numbers. BBC has him moving in a £16m move with add-ons taking it to 21.7. They also say United bought him in a £31m move from PSV, with the initial fee being £25m. Either way, BBC makes it sound like United lost money on the deal.

Papers on each side always tend to report which ever looks more favorable to their side.
United will report the deal including some add-ons to not make it look bad for selling him cheap. Lyon will report the deal to be the initial fee or something to not make it look like they overpaid.
Just using those two teams in this instance, but usually the fee is somewhere in the middle.

Depay may have been the most overhyped player I've seen on this board.
I remember several United baws saying they got a deal compared to what City paid for KDB
I will admit though, the guy looked like a star for like his first 10 games, then literally never did shite again.

United definitely paid big for him, but everyone reported the fee like twice of what the initial was because they included the add-ons for him winning the Balon d'Or and all that other crap he has in his contract.

No one every comparied him to KDB especially since they are two different types of players

We payed 19 (straight from PSV) for him and are getting are money back with a buy back

Thanks, seems like it's more or less a break even deal then with maybe a small gain or loss. Was just curious with the 19 number not showing up on either BBC or Sky's report on the move.

it says it was 25 mil on his Wiki page as well (Take that for what it's worth lol), but I mean it's United. They just spent like 130 mil on a dabbing Jonjo Shelvey. Even if they lost money, they don't give a frick.
