Lol well, I mean I think now United look pretty dumb for not doing whatever it took for that keeper payday. He gone for free now and does he even give a shite about United now? No way you can play him after you frick him over with his future.
ETA: They look dumb for not just taking the money and running. United would have certainly come out better.

you are one of the VERY VERY few saying United came off bad in this.
it's still not official and if anyone has the leverage to extend and get the deal done it's RM, but basically EVERYONE on twitter (even non man utd fans) are praising United right now for fricking over Real Madrid.

I think if United sold him they pull an absolute robbery on Madrid.
Now if United isn't at fault and didn't do it on purpose then it isn't a big deal. But if I was DDG, I would definitely not give a shite about the club that just fricked me over when my dream transfer was almost guaranteed. Does this not also give United a bad name in future negotiations? I wouldn't want tk deal with them if they dicked someone else over like that.
I mean United also just dropped maybe £80 mil on Martial, an uncapped player, who has had one decent season in Ligue 1. Praising United for anything in the transfer window is a joke right now, especially after all the talk about over paying for Sterling.

That is a pretty big price to pay just to frick over another club.

and he may not, but maybe he should honor his contract.
or maybe he should have spoken up AT ANY POINT during this. he neglected to do so. didn't even put a transfer request in. he remained silent so he wouldn't turn the fans against him. He may very well be booed by the fans at Old Trafford and rightfully so.
the club gave him everything. bulked him up from the skinny kid he was when he came. gave him confidence when he was honestly pretty shaky in the back when he first came as well. helped turn him into one of the best keepers in the world. we don't owe him anything.

Both Real and ManU print money; this is all about management ego trips.

I'm seeing on Twitter that the deal for Martial is €50 mil up front and €30 mil in add-ons.....is that right?
If so, that is the biggest panic buy in awhile and easily over takes Sterling as the most ridiculous buy this window.

This would make sense if he wasn't already going to Real Madrid in a year.

Fitting that it took egomania to prevent Flo from doing something ridiculous during a transfer window

And this surprises you? He's just giddy that the Martial deal would make the Sterling deal look decent.

This whole thing is insane.
ETA: Sky is reporting the time stamp thing, too.

I mean idc what United spent. You guys' money isn't doing any good sitting in a bank account. Spend what you gotta to get your man, but the Sterling deal seems like a bargain now if those figures are correct.

Going to FIFA or UEFA or someone tomorrow to make the final decision. I'm sure it'll end up going through. Twitter is a shite show though and it's very entertaining.

hey man, it's pretty obvious you are trying to make yourself feel better about the sterling deal.
it's okay. no one really cares anymore.
ETA: The thing that makes this situation extra is that many people in Spain believe RM and AtM will both be hit with a transfer ban in 2016 similar to Barca's.

It reeks of desperation.
This is an arms race. The big teams spend a ton. United have had a bad window...albeit one where they've made more money than they've spent at the moment...and are now paying for it dearly.
Don't think people are going to magically think City are smart, sensible spenders because United are going to get screwed over on this Martial deal. Ain't gonna happen.

I'm extremely happy with the results thus far.
Question, does a ban prevent people from coming in without being purchased? Or does that mean no one can come in at all?

quote:All you've proved is that people on twitter are incredibly stupid. If that story about United is true, it's incredibly dumb, short-sighted, unprofessional, and unbecoming a club of their stature.
but basically EVERYONE on twitter (even non man utd fans) are praising United right now for fricking over Real Madrid.
It's obviously not true, but that's besides the point. Any suggestion that United should have done that is pathetic and not supported by anybody with a brain.
