Difference clubs like United and Arsenal at least give these kids a chance
you have to take risk for it to pay off.
The best City prospect since the take over just had is spot taken last week after inking a new deal.

major clubs have major issues doing this. look at what real and barca have had to offload lately. bojan was once the centerpiece of barca's future and the jewel of their academy. morata couldn't sniff much PT at real and ends up being basically a starter on a team that made the CL finals. man u has the same issues. the only major EPL team who can claim they do everything to work their youth guys in is aresenal.
i think we're going to see a lot more situations like matic and chelsea, where super clubs loan laon loan then sell youth players...and then reacquire if the player pans out. the portuguese league is the perfect place for this kind of tomfoolery.

Leicester City are in negotiations with Birmingham City over a deal for 19-year-old winger Demarai Gray and have submitted a bid to activate his £4.7m release clause.
best prospect in the championship IMHO

Personally I'm shocked that the fee for Lopes was that high. At the end of the day Lopes wanted guaranteed playing time in the first team this season, but the amount of playing time he would have gotten wouldn't have been enough for his development. So City wanted another loan. He didn't. Plus he only had 1 year left on his contract. There's little City can do about that unless they want to play an inferior player for major minutes, which would be stupid. So they could either sell him or let him walk for free.
Even if City wasn't trying to sign KDB, Lopes isn't better than Silva, Sterling, Navas, Yaya or Nasri. There's just not a lot of playing time for him.

I think City are doing the right thing given the current soccer climate. There is no sense giving a player first team minutes in hopes that he eventually pans out. Forcing young players onto the first team only serves to quiet the people that point out City's lack of youth development. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters are trophies.

Burnley announced they signed Joey Barton.

No KDB in Wolfsburg's line-up tomorrow. We know what that means.....
I'd like to thank Ed for getting this transfer done for us finally.

So where does de Bruyne even fit in with City. I usually don't get caught up in the numbers because who cares but 80m for what exactly? Silva's backup?

If I had to guess he'll be on the RW instead of Navas.
-------------Hart---------------
Zaba--Kompany--Mangala--Kolarov
--------Toure-----Fernandinho
KDB----------Silva--------Sterling
------------Aguero--------------
Is how I would guess it will look.
ETA: That gives us Nasri as backup in the middle and left, Navas on the right and Fernando and Delph in those CM roles. We're becoming extremely deep.

Sounds good, KdB isn't going to scare anyone out wide.
