Yes, it's terrible
ETA: They might not have a lot of filler this year, so they'll probably just have the usual FOX suspects plus like Brad Friedel. Not really my ideal Real-Atletico panel. It's hard to say b/c this is the first year w/o a dedicated soccer channel where they would run ~an hour of pregame before the FOX pregame.

I want to say a couple of years ago I vaguely remember about 5-10 min of pre game commentary. Not sure about last year as I was an exhausted bleary eyed owner of a newborn and didn't watch the final

No, I'm not. I'm just very passionate about my team. And until last season, Atleti was always little brother who was annoying but not threatening in any way (since I started watching). Then all of a sudden the get a good run going. But they are still that annoying little brother and if we lost to them?! Just...no.

but let's be real. we have no real distaste of athletico or any real rooting interest in their failure. hell, how many athletico fans have you ever met in real life? i've met 0, and teh only one i've met in the e-world is capes

Well, I also in years past have hated the way that Atletico play us (aka out to injure). They are kind of like Chelsea for me. I have no rooting interest in the epl, but I cannot stand Chelsea. In fact, I hate them more than I dislike Atletico.
Doesn't change the fact that I would hate to lose to them more than any other team in a CL final.
