I think Bent would do ok with the type of players we have around him. The problem is not a lack of creative attacking players, it's that they (Berbatov, Ruiz, Tarrabt) all want the ball at their feet and will drop deep to get it. Fulham need somebody who can make runs behind the back four, get on the end of attacking moves, etc.

I mean that's not all Fulham need. We also need a central midfielder who can pass the ball, and on that note we're apparently looking at Scott Parker.

Ridiculously happy with sending Bent on loan.
Alot of people got pissed of with his seeming lack of effort, but I've always been a big fan. Hopefully he can do well at Fulham and get in the England team (still our best striker at the moment)for the World Cup. Also means he cant play against us (phew)

Another angle of this is, if Villa sell Benteke next year we have Bent coming back from loan as a "new signing" so there wont be too much pressure on Lambert to splash that cash on a replacement.

The "eng" in "engvol" stands for England.

Unless you knew that and were calling bullshite on the suggestion that Bent is the best striker, then yeah.

Yeah, I'm under the impression that Bent sucks.

He's probably the best off the ball striker England have had since Owen at his peak, when on form and playing regularly I dont think theres anyone else of English nationality I'd want taking the vital shot, and has proven he was international level before Euro 2012, him being injured for that tournament is very underrated.

Darren Bent doesn't suck. He's basically England's Chris Wondolowski; highly efficient finisher, who isn't really good at much else. That's why he's not the best international striker. He also has a huge attitude problem, which has hindered his career arc.

He used to be a Fantasy Premier League God for his price to goals ratio. That all got inflated when Aston Villa bought him.

Although Bent's off the ball movement is very good, he provides nothing other than goals.

I wish Fulham would have bought him outright, if he struggles this year it will be impossible to offload him next summer. He will be 30 and he's on £80k per week. Apparently the loan fee is 'substantial'. Now if we can only find someone to take Hutton, Bannan, Ireland and N'Zogbia that would knock another £150k+ off the wage bill.

Bent's game is easy as hell to break down, and frankly I'm not really a fan, I just think he fills a void on Fulham. When Fulham start with Berbatov and Ruiz in a 4-4-1-1 there are times when our fullbacks are the farthest man forward.

Fulham have the creative, ball at their feet type guys in Berbatov, Ruiz, and Tarrabt, so I don't mind that Bent's just a single-minded play off the shoulder of the back four type.

with arteta's injury, it'd shock me if we didn't come back with a better offer. we have to get someone immediately.

He will be a much better fit for y'all than he is for Villa. The team he was brought into had Ashley Young, Downing , and an in-form Marc Albrighton. He's not of much use to us now.

Wenger should go in for Bradley or de Rossi.

yeah, I said on the Arsenal board (and Twitter), Bradley wouldn't be a bad desperation buy, especially since he probably could be had. no way we could get de rossi.
