Nah. I saw a couple of pictures but not Derik. Has Derik's hair changed?

James is a great player but I don't think he's athletic enough to be a winger.

He played out wide right for Monaco, but I don't know. I'd have to see it. Ancelotti seems to be pretty obsessed with balance, so it would complicate things.

He doesn't seem like a false 9 either.

Well, any false 9 for Real Madrid is going to be less false 9 and more strike partner for Ronaldo.

Ultimately, I honestly have no idea. I've given up trying to make sense of it until the full squad is together. Even then, Ancelotti spent all of last preseason trying to make a 4-4-2 work, shelved it, and brought it back in games that mattered. Might not really know until transfer season is over.

So when do we start selling defenders and start putting midfielders in their places? Who needs to stop goals, amirte?

zonal marking said (and i concur) that a 4-2-3-1 could be in order. bale and james both track back well.

With Kroos and Modric as the double pivot? That's weak defensively. If you put Kroos as the 10, where do you have Ronaldo, James and Bale? Unless Crissy plays striker. I feel like James is better given freedom to roam.

I think it's going to make a badass FIFA team but I'm curious to see how it looks on the field. I'm sure Carlo will figure it out.

It could. I didn't bother mentioning it, because Ancelotti scrapped it last year. Wouldn't really be surprised by anything at this point

BTW James Rodríguez´s presentation was of a CRon level (in terms of attendance). Now, I know there are 200K Colombians in Spain, and probably 85% are in Madrid, but still..... Pretty amazing.

Marca article on Marcos Llorente, up and coming midfield star whom Zizou just promoted from Juveníl to Castilla.

Ancelotti supposedly couldn´t believe the level of this kid´s play these days in California, and kept asking where the hell did he come from?

He´s Paco Llorente´s kid, but what I didn´t know is, he´s the great Paco Gento´s grand nephew.

That´s some serious footballin´ DNA.

That was pretty sweet, wasn´t it?

RM busts out the fuchsia kits, for tonight´s AS Roma match in Dallas.

I´ve got to get my coordinates on getting up to Ann Arbor in a few days.

Keylor Navas and his entourage are getting very nervous. They´ve had no contact for days with RM, and RM hasn´t sold Iker or Diego.
