After just one paycheck? You don't have any more money? One lady on ABC said she had to go sell her plasma!
WTF people .. You didn't save anything? No wonder they have to get free shite just to live

Some live paycheck to paycheck so missing just one could certainly hurt them. Regardless the idea of having to work for virtually free is a pretty asinine idea. And the government has been shut down for far more then a week

You realize they will be getting paid for the work they are doing now....don’t you?

A lot of them are getting free meals and people are paying rent for some too. Those people making off like bandits

And if you’re living paycheck to paycheck, there are ways to get some money (ps - landlord not going to kick someone out for missing 1 months rent when they explain the situation too)

Without having to take an advance, which charges interest, without having to take money from penalty enforced savings, and without having to sell assets..... yeah I do believe there are a lot of these people out there.

I think we should agree those who sign up to defend our interests should get regular paychecks. Besides a lot enlisted personnel have less than ideal credit scores.

I listened to an NPR interview with a shut down lady that was out of money, talking about her suffering and trying to feed her kids.

The interview occurred 4 days before she missed her first check.

I guess no one at NPR did the math on the lady being ten minutes from cooking her cats when her pay cycle had yet to even be disrupted at that point.

A lot of banks are giving interest free loans to furloughed workers, so that dog don’t hunt.

Maybe they should go look for another job instead of just sitting around waiting?

Call a plumber and guarantee he will get his money sometime in the future and see how that plays out.

You miss the enite point. The government is denying them a weekly paycheck because the elites can't come to an agreement this is asinine.

How would you feel if your boss said nah you ain't getting paid this week because be and another coworker can't come to agreement on where to put microwave

So these people who cannot manage their own personal lives are somehow important to the running of the Nation? No wonder govt. screws everything up!

So you're saying 401k money doesn't exist since you won't see it till age 57 or an emergency at the earliest?

Agree 100% but those button pushers that can't budget need to learn how to budget. That's a damn disgrace that our federal government employs people who can't even save enough money to EAT past 2-3 weeks.

These are the pitfalls of working for the government. They knew this ahead of time. They are going to have to deal with it. Half these fricks are on what amounts to a paid vacation.

You do realize it isn't just the elites that aren't getting paid right? The everyday 9-5 person is getting fricked hard here

I'm sure federal workers aren't the only people living pay check to pay check.
