Besides reading books on the couch?

Is this a rhetorical question?

I'll answer since I'm bored and down with the flu.

You had to get involved a long time ago.

Before 2000, the local people were necessary in running a successful campaign. A lot of the campaign tasks were done by local people who regularly got involved. Generally, these people were older, and they had been getting involved in local politics for decades, and they had a lot of influence over huge tranches of votes in their districts.

Then, as less people got involved, a shift started. This shift diminished the importance of the locals and increased the importance of money. Those same locals, who politicians needed and were accountable to, started to disappear, and they were replaced by $$$.

There were plenty of people lined up to fill the people's void with money in order to secure favor from politicians. It soon became apparent that the people weren't necessary or getting involved anymore, and the money was all that really mattered.

Take out local news sources and keep the people reasonably comfortable, and you can do whatever tf you want to do with the governing systems. And, they took them over.

Now, we are in a place where we can't do shite. When the shift started, we could have all sacrificed 20 hours a year to stop it, but we weren't willing to do that. Now, it would take very extreme measures to bring back accountability, and that will never happen with a group of citizens' whose patriotic obligations were met with 13 minutes a year of voting.

It's too bad we couldn't keep the wolves out of the hen house from our couches or a stadium seat or a deer stand.

I'm not alone. You've got two founding members of the Freedom Caucus active on this site.

Please explain ur reasoning.... The similarities in Vivek and Haley. Seriously, teach me something.

I asked what I should have done. You gave no specific action. My only conclusion is that you are a moron. Have a nice day.

I sincerely want to understand your reasoning. But surely, you understand that your illogical statements will be received as such. If you're not prepared to provide reasonable explanations.... Don't expect anyone to take you seriously.

Haley v somebody not Biden...maybe Newsom, but he might be too much of a frick up for the job.

If they don't drag Biden all the way to the finish line somehow, then it most certainly will be Newsom.

Haley will be watching from her living room couch while tabulating how much money she received from defense corporations that day.

You just had to get involved when it mattered, and almost nobody did, besides those people who wanted to profit from the influence.

It sounds like you're saying you did absolutely nothing, and you're wondering what went wrong.

People used to regularly call their politicians at home to bitch. They'd get out and spend hours a week knocking on doors, calling voters, etc to work against the person they didn't want. They'd corner them at church or the local store.

Like I said, the younger generations weren't interested in getting involved, and the system used this lack of attention to shift accountability to the big money and away from the people.

I'm always confused by all of your replies when I beat this drum. It feels like some of you are just trolling.

Is the issue that you just never knew that 100's or 1000's of people from the district level used to spend 1000's of hours a year getting involved in your local, state, and national elections back in the day?

What does that even mean?

Your previous post stated you read books.

Did you just simply forget to list how you actively got involved in the 80's, 90's, and 00's when you typed that you read books?

You really don't; you just want to feel ok.

And, you're not alone.

I just hope you guys used the free time you could have used to get involved to stack resources for our bleak future. shite is going to get bad.
