I know many on the center-left that would have engaged in rational discussions about the current state of politics. Do I believe their minds would have changed? I do not, but I am not so sure they would have written you off as a complete buffoon who's opinion has no merit. Please by all means fight and battle but the conspiracy crap needs to go, there was enough involved that you don't have to reach for all these wack theories.

There are some “out of left field theories/conspiracies” out there for sure. However, when the former Director or the CIA and many more are tweeting things that could be confused with an excerpt from George Orwell’s 1984 you have to be more than a little concerned.

Yep. Gullible, childish wannabes. I take it all in and listen for the things that might be true (spy gate) but these people think Trump, of all people, is at the tip of the spear of some grand military plan. He can't keep his stupid mouth shut. He would never be let in on something like that.

How on earth did that ruin my point. I said it wouldn't change their mind but there is a difference between disagreeing with someone and not valuing their opinion at all.

I consider myself center-left, and would have certainly liked to have engaged in civil discussions. But every single liberal on this forum, has been referred to as commies, pedophiles, figs, or whores.

The folks who are knee deep in the conspiracy theories, have no tolerance for anyone who doesn’t 100% agree with them.

A large majority of the republicans on this forum ask baiting questions of the liberals (sometimes repeatedly the same question), and then proceed to name call like second graders.

In every group there are people whose opinion/ideas reside somewhere near the middle and can be nudged to one side or the other through meaningful conversation.

The crazy conspiracy theories push these people away from the direction you want them to go.

If those you know to which you're referring weren't able to identify plenty enough folks who match that description but from the center-right perspective, that's on them. I'd suggest less over-generalization and stereotyping next time.

True. We have problems on many sides. Many sides.

100%

Hell I was listening to rick and bubba on the drive to work Thursday and callers were calling Bubba a socialist because he questioned some of the conspiracy theories.

The fringe on the right has also invited the fringe on the left. Middle ground is much harder.

It’s almost like someone who hates America wanted this to happen. Maybe some outside force.

Do yourself a favor and quit paying any attention to the megaphones of the corporate media. It is nothing but a gas-lightning operation specifically calibrated to make you question your sanity.

You’re absolutely right, it is a two way street. I don’t disagree that the liberals on here haven’t been much better.

Then what's the point of being a GOPe cuck if it wouldn't change anything?

You already said it wouldn't matter. I should pretend to support something I don't just so people that would never side with me see me in a better light? That's a very weak stance to take. Some might even say it's spineless.

What whack theories? That 80 million people voted for Blithering Biden? I don't subscribe to that conspiracy.

I don't have TV and work too much for anything else. Corporate media isn't a problem for me, it's watching daily interactions of people I know and care about on both sides.
