You and your family are fired. I hope you enjoyed your day off

In at least five states, roughly 60 people lost their jobs this week after they skipped work to participate in the “Day Without Immigrants” protest on Thursday, according to local media reports.
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, 12 Latino workers at the I Don’t Car Bar and Grill told KTUL that they were fired over text message because they did not show up for their scheduled shift and did not call in.
“You and your family are fired. I hope you enjoyed your day off, and you can enjoy many more. Love you,” the restaurant owner texted one employee, according to screenshots provided to the station.
18 people were fired from Bradley Coatings, Incorporated, a local painting company, according to News Channel 5. The people fired told the news station that they informed their superiors on Wednesday that they would be participating in the protest and that when they failed to show up the next day, they were all fired.

I know I do, and I'm a union member. I'm just not one of those people who thinks people are OWED a job and have the right to work on THEIR terms.
You wanna work on YOUR terms? Strike out on your own. Otherwise, do as your boss says or find another job.
It ain't rocket science.

Good for them.
Even if they did tell their boss, they only told them the day before. That's bullshite.
I know if I told my boss a day or even a week before that I was going to participate in some dumbass protest, he would laugh at me and tell me I better be in on that day.
I know many companies are different, but if they didn't go by the company's policy on taking days off, they left themselves open for this.

quote:This is truly the best part of it all. I bet that boss was sitting back like "ok, you want to come in here telling me you're taking a day off to go to this meaningless protest when I have X, Y and Z jobs lined up for tomorrow. I got something for y'all."
The people fired told the news station that they informed their superiors on Wednesday that they would be participating in the protest and that when they failed to show up the next day, they were all fired.
I bet the same thing wouldn't have happened had they told them a month in advanced, like most people do when they know they have something coming up.
But no, now we're supposed to feel sorry for these immigrants because they let their emotions get in the way of logical thinking. Idiots.

My SIL had one ask for a personal day she said sure.
The girl's husband came into work like normal, he was mad at her for taking the personal day, he wanted her to save it for carp fishing.

Right to work has nothing to do with this issue.

Employees who don't want their names revealed or their pictures taken. Bunch of pussies - unless they have something to hide.As I posted yesterday, the gang of the Okla. 12 didn't even go to a rally. They stayed home, then lost their jobs.

Good. If I told my boss I was not showing up for some stupid reason I would probably be fired too

People skip worked and get fired.
The Left thinks they can use it to create division, so it becomes NATIONAL NEWS.

Got to know your value at a place of employment. Some people are easily replaced and should tread lightly, in other situations the employee holds some of the power and can have more flexibility.
