or they can call out the state's national guard and use them as U.S. Army troops - reference Kent State in the 70's

Yeah the feds have numerous sticks they can use. Threaten to hold federal funding, see Montana and LA trying to keep drinking age at 18. Or they can send in troops like they did in Arkansas back in the day.

Ask Assad how that 'sick the Feds' on the folk is working out over there? Qdaffi? Muburak? And them folk over there are poorly armed, and have no real tradition of freedom. This bunch it won't be herding cats...it'll be herding TIGERS!

And whoever ends up trying it, will end up like Saddam. On the tight end of a rope.

re: Wyoming and Arizona approve bills barring Enforcement Of Federal Gun Measure
Why would Obama call out the National Guard? Against what? This isn't a situation where people are assembling in one spot to protest or to try and stop someone from entering a school. This just means the State won't lift a finger to help. People, thousands of them, will keep their guns and quietly go about their business. Troops make no sense here. I mean, you could send troops door to door, but at that point Obama will have crossed the Rubicon and we're in uncharted waters. Not his best option.

And there's only so many federal agents and prosecutors to go around, and they're already pretty busy. If enough States and people buck the feds, there's no way the feds can have any effective enforcement. Courts would be clogged for years.

The most realistic enforcement route for the feds is funding. Don't go after the people; there's too many of them. Rather, go after the politicians and hit them where it hurts. Crank up the media machine to isolate the leaders.

Hopefully none of this happens but nothing this prez does surprises me.
