Subsidies for coal, just what we need to make America great again

I oppose ALL subsidies... That includes the farm subsidies, alternative energy subsidies, welfare / food stamps, free phones, free internet, cash for clunkers, etc, etc and any other hairbrained idea to take federal tax dollars to prop up anything or anyone...
If a State wants to prop up a particular industry, let that State prop it up or provide tax incentives for it...

Not in favor of subsidies to prop up a failing industry. If they can't make it on their own, they shouldn't make it.

U.S. power plants burned at least 110 million short tons of Appalachian coal in 2016, according to Andrew Cosgrove, an analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence. A payment of $15 for each of those tons [the subsidy] would cost at least $1.65 billion.

Can we just get out of the coal business?
I'm conservative, but not stupid. We need to move forward with cleaner energy.
