I guess that would depend on your business model. I’m not here to kink shame. You do you.

Yes. It would be hypocritical of me not to.

Convicted of possession with intent to distribute. Or something else drug related.

Well if you are running a pharmacy, I definitely wouldn't hire.

Felons can get around things like that by working for temp agencies. Many temp agencies don’t pull background checks.

If she is qualified and can do the job, yes I would hire her. However, I would flat tell her that there is no drug use while on the job working for me or she would be fired on the spot (just like for all employees).

ETA: and since I work in an industry where random drug test are required by law (title 49 part 199) she might want to lay off the drugs in order to keep employment.

I hire them all the time to work my factory. Most burn out and get back on drugs, but we've gotten some great workers that have gotten their lives back together.

Would depend on things like what the crime was, how long it's been, what kind of business I'm running, etc.

That’s such a shame. There’s so much untreated/unprocessed trauma in that population. Good for you for giving them a chance.

Depends on what I'm hiring them for. Manual labor? Sure but drug tests if needed. Watching my books? Hell no.
