Woman allegedly shoots homeless man for complaining where she parked her car

Her father and defense attorney claim that the man was threatening her, and that the attack was in self defense. They claim that they went immediately to the police to cooperate fully.
The Nashville PD, OTOH, have stated that they did not do so and that they were first alerted by a passer by who saw the wounded homeless man. Both the woman held for the shooting and the passenger in the car did not contact the PD until the following week through their defense attorney, the PD states.
Above comments are from reading a couple of different articles on the subject. As you can imagine, depending on the news source, the emphasis changes.
She is slated to go on trial for attempted murder this month.
