He didn't do anything tactically that required any sort of military training. This is pretty basic stuff.

From what I've read his family shouldn't be considered a reliable source of info relative to his life in the last 10-20 years. I don't think they were close or had much contact.

We have both Lockheed Martin aerospace engineer and millionaire real estate tycoon.

18 weapons, most presumably long rifles, with 2000 rounds of ammo (total estimate) would be
@ about 7 lbs each is approx. 125 lbs of rifles
and 50+ lbs of ammo assuming all the weapons were light weight AR's shooting .223.
And that is without the added weight of extra magazines.
so 175 to 200 lbs of luggage
I suppose if it was spread out over 4 or more rolling suitcases it would not draw too much attention. But don't fool yourself, regardless of the volume of people coming and going, security is looking at each one of them either direct eyes on or with video surveillance.
