Republicans will probably not control both the houses after the 2018 midterms.

Dems will likely take one. I doubt they will be willing to do anything that helps the country similar to the fiasco with the health care repeal/replace.

So what do you think happens?

The Repubs will probably expand their majorities, but risk it if they don't get busy passing some reforms...

There is next to zero chance that republicans lose the Senate, there is a real chance that we get a 60 seat majority in the Senate

We could lose the House, but even that is highly unlikely

No chance Dems take senate.

I really doubt they take house but will probably close the gap a bit

Republicans gain seats in House. The MSM bs is a farce; all those Polls too. Trump Nation knows what is coming down, and they'll show up as usual.

He was a lame duck as soon as we voted him in. He is not a friend of the GOPe.

Also I don't see the dems gaining a seat let alone one of the Houses.

I agree with Newt on this one, if the economy is growing which tax cuts would do, then they should expand their majority. They are trying their best to F it up tho.

No. Expect the Dems to pick up seats.

I'll also call it now - Cruz wins in Texas but it's going to be much closer than most probably expect

There is zero chance they reach 60. The Dems have a better shot at reaching 50

Count on it. He's already lame, so he doesn't have far to go.

with the way the rhino's are acting in the house and senate it almost feels like he already is a lame duck president.

let's be real, there is a two party system but its the powerful and the everyday citizens. until the citizens start electing these pompous assholes out of office it will be status quo.

really?

how so?

have you looked at the map?

34 seats up for election

the 7 seats that are safe republican include - AL, MS, TN, TX, UT, WY & NE

those seats are absolutely safe republican - win all of those & we hold 50 seats

the 17 that are safe dem are - CA, WA, NM, VA, MN, ME, VT, NY, PA, MA, RI, CT, NJ, DE, MI, HI & MD

I understand why VA is listed "safe" for dems with Tim Kaine

But I think that MI & PA should be competitive & are seats we can win

that leaves: OH, NV, AZ, MT, ND, WI, IN, OH, FL & MO as "toss ups"

Is it likely repubs win every one? no - but it far more likely than seeing the dems find a way to 50 seats

I left out WV on purpose, do not think Manchin loses, but rumors continue that he could switch parties

so, although 60 seats for repubs is not probable, it is FAR more likely to happen than seeing the dems even get a tie, much less take control of the Senate...

OP, you realize the Dems have way more incumbents up for reelection in 2018 than the GOP do right?

The GOP seats up for reelection that are all safe are Texas, Mississippi, Tennnessee, Wyoming, Nebraska, Utah. I think the only GOP seats that might face serious opposition is Nevada and Arizona that are up for reelection.

Meanwhile Dems have a ton more seats opening up including states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Montana, Florida, North Dakota, and Missouri that all voted Trump last year. Time Missouri finally dumped McCaskill.
