Why must we assume that workers without a degree don't have knowledge?

I simply don't understand how you can be so close-minded.
Let me ask the entire board this, especially the liberals that post here: did your grandfather not have any knowledge? Did he not drop any words of wisdom into your mind? Did he not know anything about what he did for a living? (I'm assuming that most people here had grandfathers who didn't go to college, because mine didn't)
The word educated is incomplete. In a sentence, the correct way of putting it is: 'he is educated about x". There is no higher order "education", where you have knowledge of everything. The phrase "he is educated" is meaningless. It's like saying "he doesn't like".... he doesn't like WHAT? Nobody is educated, everyone is educated about something.
A art history major or an engineering major will make you educated about all things art and all things engineering. The 2 years of GE classes you take will be out of your memory by the time you finish college, most likely. A mechanic or an electrician has education that art majors don't have, and vice versa. But on aggregate, you can't say that the art majors have more knowledge. it makes no sense.
Education means having knowledge, it doesn't mean having a degree.
If you truly want to measure which candidate is supported by the uneducated, you'd have to conduct knowledge tests.

Not sure why this is directed at liberals instead of business owners other than poliboard virtue signalling

I had two grandfathers. Neither made it past HS.
Both spoke fluent English, French and Spanish. But it was out of necessity for different reasons.
Dad's side was French by birth, married a German who only spoke English and worked in Cuba.
Mom's side was Spanish, married a French woman and worked in America.
Their wives refused to learn their language because women be bitches. Nome sane?

Because it is always the liberals on here that are claiming that Trump is supported by the uneducated and loathed by educated people.

Some of the dumbest people I know have advanced degrees and they think they're the smartest frickers on the planet.

It would be fallacious and wrong to assume that a lack of a degree = lack of knowledge and/or intelligence.
But that also doesn't negate the positive relationship of educational attainment with knowledge and/or intelligence..

common sense is underrated.

This is a society-wide issue.
But it's being examined much more closely than it was 20 years ago (See: the college and career readiness standards being implemented in K-12 schools by most states' departments of ed).
Like it or not, while exceptions certainly exist, post-secondary education remains a healthy predictor of future financial success. That's not to say college grads are any more or less intelligent than their non-graduate counterparts, just that their earnings are usually higher.
Now if you want to define success differently (e.g., happiness, contentment, confidence), that's an entirely different discussion.

Some of the smartest people that I have ever met are skilled master craftsman who did not have a degree. What few there are left of them that is. Some of the dumbest people I have ever met held a Doctoral degree, usually in Education. No common sense and if they had to work a real job and produce something they would starve.

Because HR people don't know how to screen prospective talent without convenient criteria such as a degree in the exact field that carries the same name as the position they're hiring for. Companies don't want to train their new hires. Why would they want to test their prospective new hires. They'd rather let a degree or certification do the training and weeding out for them.

You are trying way too hard, man. Give it up.

A person's level of intelligence is not measured by their level of formal education.

Political knowledge is attained by examining laws and their effects on your community, city, country, etc. It doesn't take a classroom to find out which laws are good or not.

I do agree that the % of people with a college education with nothing to show for it is increasing. And that the close-minded mentality of the left of "believe in all this out of the ordinary bs" or else your hateful is being manufactored in university settings, specifically in departments where degrees lead to lifetime jobs at Starbucks.

"Educated" =\= intelligent

If you ask every american who the smartest person they know is, the most common answer you will get is a dad or a grandpa, despite dads and grandpas not having degrees at rates as high as future generations.

What I am saying is that what they have to show is SPECIFIC knowledge of a CERTAIN subject, which in know way makes them smarter on the thousands of other subjects and issues in the world.
