Why is the media in such a frenzy over people discussing the Seth Rich case?

There are tons of conspiracy theories about everything.
JFK, the moon landing, Vietnam, 9/11, Iraq, Sandy Hook, whatever.
There's no shortage of conspiracy theories about any event or topic.
The media typically just ignores conspiracy theories. I mean, what's the point in discussing them, you only give them exposure and you aren't going to change anyone's minds.
But yet for some odd reason, the mainstream media is feverishly working to not only poo-poo the Seth Rich theories but to destroy anyone who publicly discusses it.
Just seems kinda odd to me, they're being unusually testy about it.

How many other conspiracy theories like this are pushed by some of the biggest media personalities on the planet?
When it's Alex Jones spewing bullshite, people mostly leave it alone. When it's Hannity and it reaches infinitely more people, then you'll see the rest of the media speak up.

I don't think the media cares much about the DNC leakers anymore.
