Why is the Left feigning outrage over Trump contacting Taiwan?

I thought they were all for supporting separatist movements against Authoritarian governments? Now, because of a phone call we're in danger of nuclear war?

Yeah... I mean the emporer was probably on Twitter checking his feed and saw that the creator of General Tso's Chicken, a Taiwanese man, passed today. Very sad news. Big league that impacts all of us Chinese food lovers.
At that point he probably reached out to the Taiwan President to express his sympathy. After which he was told, "Dude...."
So now they are backtracking to say it was a congratulatory call to save the embarrassment of it being over one of his favorite meals.

I'm all for it. I'm not so happy about his enthusiasm for authoritarians like the leaders of Pakistan, Syria and Krgyzstan. He seems to have an affinity for dictators.

I don't think he likes dictators. I think he he has a philosophy of not trying to force western democracy on every country and just work with the current leaders to keep a peaceful relationship beneficial to the US.
