calling Korea, Vietnam, Panama, Grenada, Iraq, and Afghanistan “peacetime” doesn’t compute for me.
So, not much of a Constitutionalist, I see.
I don’t think we should have been involved in any of those conflicts without the DOW from Congress.

With no money, or weapons?
I never said that, why put words in my mouth?
I simply said I wouldn’t sponge off the government. If I signed up during peacetime, that’s exactly what it would have been. I was too old for Iraq and Afghanistan.

I agree.
But I would hardly believe that the families of the dead and wounded in those conflicts would say it was peacetime.

So if Congress were to declare war, you would want untrained conscripts?

what you’re referring to are anecdotes. And what you are is retarded
As I look back over the several decades of my life and think about those who scream that anecdotal evidence isn't proof, or even real evidence, I am forced to look at the truth of the matter.
Anecdotal evidence is the evidence that EVERYONE uses to make a decision about something. Anecdotes provide the reasons that people will form an opinion and hold a belief. To dismiss anecdotal evidence in favor of a compilation of raw numbers with no reference to the manner in which that data was obtained is to walk through life without the ability to comprehend what is going on around you.
Anecdotes are stories of occurrences and actions in real life. Each one of them is a brick that builds a structure. If you fail to see the importance of the bricks then you'll never understand how to repair the building when the bricks are removed by someone who deems them to be unimportant.
I won't call you retarded though, as you have called others. Retarded simply means slow of learning. No, friend, you are simply unsophisticated in your thought process. Easily and willingly beguiled by narratives that appeal to your feelings.

You said that those weren’t wars and were, therefore, examples of “peacetime.”
I am curious as to how you envision our military during “peacetime.”
Is it funded?
Who will pay for the weapons etc?
Are they to be volunteers only?
Conscripts?
Draftees?
If they receive a salary, do you consider those that serve to be “sponging off of the government?”
It sounds as though you see serving the nation as a member of the military as being beneath you.

I want the military to be reserved for the defense of our country, and not just defense of the corporate interests abroad.
]I would agree with this. So troops at our borders?

So for you, it’s either we declare war on Mexico, or allow for a (virtually) open border.
