John Houseman, Jewish producing partner of Orson Welles, later taught at Julliard. One of his students was future director James Bridges (Paper Chase, China Syndrome). Houseman loved the story Bridges told of growing up in rural Arkansas in the early '50s and one day hitch-hiking to a town 40 miles away, b/c he heard somebody would be speaking there, and this might be his only chance ever to see an actual, live JEW.
