Why exactly was Sheriff Joe arrested in first place?

Far as I can tell he got arrested for enforcing the law

But you haven't considered that Obama didn't like the law.

The problem with Congress, they won't even throw the bullshite laws out...muchless the ones that protect us
So it didn't matter what Joe enforced...he did what he was charged to do

A leftist activist judge fricked him over for no reason.

Criminal contempt of court for knowingly and repeatedly ignoring the court's interpretation of the law in order to help his reelection campaign.

Technically he was arrested for violating a court order that prevented him from enforcing the law.
He was racial profiling of latinos. Of course if you are looking for illegal aliens that have crossed the border, latinos are exactly who you should be profiling.
So yes he was arrested and convicted for enforcing the law.

I could be wrong but I think the problem comes in if the only reason for someone being stopped is their being Mexican. Doesn't there have to be some reasonable suspicion or probable cause that they are here illegally or committed a crime before you can stop them in the first place? If so, I don't think simply being Mexican meets that standard.

He violated an order given to him by a judge. Agree or disagree with the judge's order, it was still contempt. The judge was also put in by Bush, not Obama.

The OP is mistaken.

Yep. Plus I'd love to see how this board would react if an arrested drug dealer kept thumbing his nose at the court too.

He made prisoners wear pink underwear and sleep outside in tents. If that doesn't warrant a prison sentence I don't know what does.

Criminal contempt of court for knowingly

Like anything else there are proper channels to deal with the situation. He chose to grandstand and thumb his nose at the court.

Why are you assuming that there wasn't?
