I realize a constitutional amendment granted them the three votes, but isn't hat a bad precedence?

DC isn't a state. They aren't equal to an Idaho or a Delaware. The people that live there should have to vote in their historic state's borders for president and that would be in Maryland or Virginia.

Hillary received 260,000 votes to Trumps 11,500 with 93% of the vote counted. That's ridiculous and underscores the danger of having people so totally invested in big govt. given that much say so in such a small area.

The Founders got it right the first time, changing it was a mistake.

Surprised Dems aren't pushing for 3 for Puerto Rico, 3 for Guam, 3 for American Somoa, etc.

That would be 9 in the bag and make the threshold 275.

Population explosion after the founding + it being somewhat politically neutral in 1960. The latter has obviously backfired.

they do push. its all about voters and demographics, its not about empathy and caring. Trying to get more cubans in FLa, Mexicans in Tx, DC Govt workers in VA, Syrians in states that can be flipped. All that changes the map over the next 50 years.
