Why do we have such deference to the Judiciary?

We need a judicial system but how is we just think a handful of mostly appointed judges are somehow above the rest of us?

Who is really the most powerful person in government? The Pres or a single swing vote judge on the SC?

The same reason we trust pharmacists.

No really good reason.

Judicial immunity shouldn't exist.

The same people who clamor about 3 equal branches of government and have no problem with a senator bashing the president, soil their pants if the president criticizes a judge.

They are equal. They are all subject to criticism.

Completely hypocritical.

I don't think we have deference for the judicial system any longer and TBH they don't deserve they used to have.....politics has fricked the judicial system up.

Good luck with that ever working out to a positive. Infinitely multiplying litigation is always a benefit.

If you want to get rid of bias on the bench, this would make matters worse.

Judges shouldn't have the threat of lawsuit or other sanctions while making a decision. That is almost like asking someone with a metaphorical gun to their head to decide something for you. You're going to say whatever the person with the gun wants. Hence, more bias on the bench.

The same can be said for every branch and level of government. We've given government unearned power.

Neither should be the most powerful, but clearly it's the president.

You lose a lawsuit. You sue the judge who presided over that case. You lose that second suit, you sue the judge that decided the second case. You lose that third suit, you sue the judge that decided the third case.

Repeat until you decide to give up the issue.

The process to remove most judges is ridiculous.

Look at Trudy White for example. Judge's should not be politically appointed and they should all be subject to being voted into or out of office based on their performance.

There isn't one.

That's the point.

Straight up fact that judicial elections are one of the worst facets of our democracy. That's how you get people like Trudy White on the bench in the first place. See also Moore, Roy

Are you under the impression that Trudy White was not voted into office?

Aren't there often more problems when judged are elected?

Look at Roy Moore. He was elected, removed from his position, elected again, and is now suspended.

Maybe this highlights that elected judges are easier to be removed, but it also highlights that the populace didn't care about his conduct, probably because of his political views/

It also makes judges care about election campaign funds. That should raise an obvious red flag when there are certain repeat litigants in certain locations.

Founding fathers didn't put enough checks on the courts, so they were able to insert themselves into things that are not their pervue
