I'm just curious.
With the thousands of reporters digging into Trump's past I'm sure one of you guys have ran across this answer for me.

Do you have a source for the first claim? Genuinely curious. I know they had been difficult to get a hold of, but I was not aware of money spent to make it so.

Obama was presumed to be very smart so it may have been embarrassing to find out he got a C in freshman biology.
Everybody already presumes Trump is an idiot so some lesser grades don't hurt his narrative as much.

Grades are indicative of work ethic and discipline, not intelligence, in any case.
