Pilot, how do I "discuss or learn" when all I get from someone like ommg is a stupid catchphrase like "you're blackobsessed"?

What am I supposed to learn from that?

I guess it's"jump on kct" day, and that's fine, but I'm disappointed. I discuss facts and detail, and lay out my opinions as well as anybody. Then some dude comes up with a stupid catchphrase and that impresses people. I dont get it.

I honestly dont think that black people take the high road when they march in support of Trayvon Martin or riot in support of Michael Brown. I never said that was all black people, nut it appears to be the majority of them.

Now, if somebody wants to disagree with that, fine. But, that's not what I got. I got a stupid catchphrase and "you're a horrid poster.". No mention of what I actually said, though.

And to third....i didn't disagree with anything you've said in this thread. I dont know why you asked me that. But, sorry to disappoint you that I dont agree with your comment that im a horrid poster. That was a cheap shot if I ever saw one.

Nope, you earned it.

You earned it with dumbass comments like this that have nothing to do with the OP, and have been addressed and refuted by me, personally, as a black man living in Missouri.

Not to mention your continuing obsession with black threads on this board. It's obvious to everyone but you that you have an axe to grind.

Was Obama right to go before the UN and refer to Ferguson as an example of injustice in America?

No he did not. He never said "injustice". He mentioned it as an example of unrest in our own country with people divided:

quote:

I know the world also took notice of the small American city of Ferguson, Missouri -- where a young man was killed, and a community was divided. So yes, we have our own racial and ethnic tensions. And like every country, we continually wrestle with how to reconcile the vast changes wrought by globalization and greater diversity with the traditions that we hold dear. But we welcome the scrutiny of the world -- because what you see in America is a country that has steadily worked to address our problems and make our union more perfect.

But you heard your own truth through your own prism based upon your own life experiences. And you did the same thing re whether the cop was justified in killing Brown and the Trayvon case as well.

The same is true for the black community and their support of Brown and Trayvon. The black community sees things through their own prisms based upon their own experiences.

When the thread was put here re the cop shooting the dog, those with experiences of cops being dicks saw it has wrong while those with different experiences saw it as the cop defending himself.

It's human nature to see things through our own prisms based upon our own experiences.

The majority of blacks marched or rioted? You want to try that again.

Honestly, the saddest thing is that you don't even get, that you don't get it it.

I hate to play the media card, but you realize there are hundreds of thousands of black people in Missouri, right?

And with a few dozen (heck, maybe 100+ - let's go hog wild) - looters, and perhaps a couple hundred, to, ~1000 protestors?

So, you're suggesting a "majority" are doing this based on what the media chose to show you (for ratings, I might add)?

I guess what I'm saying - I understand black concern when the initial reports say, "Cop shoots unarmed black teen in the back." The rioting was all opportunism, and the protests were premature, IMHO, but the concern was understandable - heck, I'm lily white, politically conservative and live in Louisiana, and I was concerned.

However, once the blood is hot, it seems like those with a vested interest in continuing the protests (Sharpton, other race-baiters and, now, Brown's family) do not seem assuaged by the objective evidence that appears to clear the cop - based on what we know now.

But, that's not the same as lumping all black people, everywhere, with a few keystrokes into this madness. That's not good, fair, logical thinking. There are roughly 40 million black folks in 'Murica. Despite what you've been led to believe, they're not all the same.

There's about 400,000 black people in St. Louis city and county combined. Just for clarification.

I didn't have the breakdown - the o/u for the entire state is 675k.

I hope I live long enough where these stats won't be kept because they don't matter - but I doubt I will.

Aren't we moving towards a pleasant caramel color and in 2150 we'll all look like Daniel Sunjata and Halle Berry?

In all seriousness, how can a white guy get behind this movement?

More to the point, I'm tired of inner city kids showing up in my wife's ER with GSWs and no place to live. How do I discuss how disturbing this is and how fed up I am with the policies that contributed to this without being branded a racist prick by a bunch of poverty and race pimps who disagree with my opinions?

According to the parameters the left has established, you can't.

Sad, but true. It's is absolute bullshite. A white man can give to charity and volunteer every hour of free time he can to charitable causes, but he's considered a heartless jerk and probably racist if he happens to notice that our welfare state has destroyed the inner city family unit and our craptastic public schools are keeping entire generations stuck in poverty.

This is not a black problem. This is an American problem that impacts every last one of us. We all have a vested interest in the productivity, safety, and education of America's youth....shutting down people for discussing solutions to these problems just because they are white or conservative thinking is nonsensical and cruel.

There's a reason black males have higher dropout rates, higher rates of homelessness, and higher incarceration rates. We can address these symptoms and not really accomplish anything or we can roll up our sleeves and discuss why this is happening. It's very clear that modern race and poverty pimps want none of that discussion. They are totally content screwing over their own people.

Assholes like Sharpton and Jackson are not real civil rights leaders so long as they are Democrats first and black men second. Shame on them for being sellouts.

The solution is accessible to anyone. The problem, as you have identified it, has spread to all races and creeds.

Trailer parks or housing projects, black, white, brown, yellow or other - poverty, drugs, crime, illegitimacy, illiteracy, rinse, repeat.

One can't avoid poverty, but you can choose to (hokey, freakin' Nancy Reagan as it sounds), stay in school, stay off drugs, avoid criminal activity - and there's a 90 something percent chance you'll do all right.

There are few things in life, even being born very wealthy, that are going to give you 90%+ positive outcomes.

But's it is a long process. And hard. (I know, TWSS).
