Why are all the lefties on this board trolls?

Not one of them defends their position and engages in a debate of ideas.
They just troll and go "muh trumpkins".
Is this because they're the weakest they've been in decades with a base that shrinks by the day?

Yes because refusing to read a story and decrying it as "fake news" when it's a story you don't like is engaging in a debate of ideas.

There's a few good ones such as tigerdoc, bonhoeffer.
The rest use the heavily right tilt of the board to score "gotcha points"
And many of them lie and say they are really politically moderate/in the cneter, but they act like blue shills on here to "balance" the board.
Soooo many times you see them saying stuff like "on reddit, I usually argue in the conservative position"

There is no discourse on this board. There used to be but it died about 18 months ago.
The right only has clinton goes to jail, or if they don't like the news - cuck or fake news.
They also have #winning when trump loses and they want to try to deceive themselves on the topic.
I am happy to engage in debate on any topic. But once you call me a cuck, prog filth, or anything like that, well go frick yourself.

It's not that they are trolls, they just only have two positions.
1. Hate every single thing Trump does or says no matter what it is.
2. Protect Obamacare as it's the only legacy Obama has to show for 8 years in office.

Because they were never quite in the popular crowd. If they were, it was because someone used them for something. Then, in college, they had a new beginning, but had to prove how different they were/are. Now we are left with handlebar mustaches and full color thy tattoos that mean nothing.

It may be fake for the same reason your post is. You claim something without providing examples.
To support your claim, can you provide some examples of claims of "fake news" that were wrong...not just because, as you claim, when its simply a story "you don't like"?
Be as specific as possible.
