Who wants to pay another 17 cents/gallon gas tax?

I sure don't want to pay another 17 cents per gallon. Jindal raised taxes by $600 million in his last year, and JBE raised them by another billion or so last year. Where is it all going?
You can go here to email your elected officials that you don't want the gas tax. (Btw, I put a phony phone number in there. They're not getting that!)

If the current gas tax all went to roads and the added gas tax all went to roads then I would be ok with it. However, we all know that is not the case.

This is my take as well. They need a full audit done of DOTD to show where all the money goes.

Does this surprise you? They shot down a proposal to raise corporate tax rates and lower our tax rates.

If they are going to tax gas 17 cents then I'm ok with it if it would actually go to sh*t like roads and schools.

Some dude saw a prostitute and another observed an honor code so 17 cents seems fair. Whatever . It's just money.

It doesn't surprise me. I just wanted to post the link for people to take action and try to stop the tax increase. Let's remind the Republican lawmakers that there will be a price to pay if they raise those taxes.

It's because our benevolent corporate overlords always use those savings to improve their workers lives, never to line their own pockets.

Do I oppose local taxation for improved infrastructure? No.
Do I believe our local governments are capabale of responsibly taxing us and using said revenue for necessary infrastructure improvements? No.

Some of the existing road tax goes to the State Police and another agency. Don't remember it though.
With JBE and Dardenne as COA, I don't trust it will go to roads.
