Who are the superstar up and comers on YOUR “bench”?
After Desantis it's not a huge list b/c he's poised to run things for 8 years.
You'd likely be looking at GOP candidates who have won statewide in purple states. Kemp, Youngkin, Lombardo, etc. or default to Rand.

Do you not realize that Florida was still locked down at the time of that tweet?

Desantis
Hawley
Kemp
Rand (been around but still young enough)
Youngkin
I’d say that’s a better lineup than the days where it looked like Jindal was the next big thing.
Depending on this primary season/election you might see some guys like JD Vance Tim Scott or Rick Scott start to increase their national profile. Or maybe Rubio try to rehab his image.
In theory the right should have a fairly bright future.
The problem is Trump dictates the thoughts of his coalition

We were not locked down in September.
Unless you were in a coma then, the media/Dems non stop "DeathSantis" coverage was in full swing.

I realize President Fauci and the teachers unions ran the federal government at that point

McConnell is already meeting with him about taking on Ossoff for Senate.
Kemp no doubt has his eyes on The Senate after his term is up.
I have Lib neighbors who like Kemp because he ‘stood up to Trump’ and a few even voted for him over Fat Stacey
That Senate seat is winnable for Kemp

But the Dems run all such great candidates don't they.

Rules and strategy are different for the 2 parties. This isn't some shocking information.
There was a time early in Trump's admin where the Left was facing fracturing into big tent tribalism, without a bench to compete with a united Right, but that's flipped somewhat. Now the Right has slid back into Bush-era big tent tribalism and the DEMs keep running against Trump (and winning). The candidate becomes irrelevant.
