I remember when Southern has a white QB.

Not uncommon to see a kicker (imagine that) and an occasional o-lineman on HBCUs. Heck I know a white dude who played WR at Savannah State & was all conference.

I don't get it, still taking pride in schools founded for slaves. It's almost of if they want to remain in the shackles of the past.

I couldn’t make it through that. What a load lf shite.

I laughed out loud when they said HBCUs are where black students go to become free thinkers.

Also that white kid is a little white guilt motherfricker

And here I thought this whole time I went to the big time A&M. I mean, it was an elaborate, 4.5 year hoax.

We do that at LSU, too. It's hilarious.

And students from Morehouse have been some of the worst
offenders in the way they look down on other HBCU students.

They had T-shirts made up that said:
"My fiance goes to Spellman"
"My girlfriend goes to Morris Brown"
"My whore goes to Clark"

Of course this was about 25 years ago but it still gives an indication of the mindset of "Morehouse Men"

Why would he subject himself to shite education?

To be fair, Morehouse is a very solid school.

I think my favorite part of that was around the 17:30 mark where a girl asks why a white person can get into a black school and black people can’t get into white schools.

He ended up having to transfer because of the hatred of the fan base IIRC.

Marcus was cool as shite and could spin a ball. Some of the fans loved him, the majority were racist tho.

That video was infuriating knowing that if the roles were reversed, the reaction would be absolute pandemonium. I get what they’re saying to some extent in that the colleges are a place for them to go and be with people like themselves. I don’t think that’s always a bad thing for anyone. However, we know that would never happen if white prople wanted that and most colleges scream about diversity as they try to cram it down people’s throats.

The most disturbing story is that of Marcus Jacoby (no relation to me), the unsuspecting white 19-year-old who starts at quarterback for Southern University, a largely black school in Baton Rouge, La. Jacoby is hazed in the locker room, booed on the field, mercilessly isolated on campus:shame:. During one game, an all-black squad hits him so hard that he has to be hospitalized. When his team doesn't win, disappointed fans threaten him, at least once with rope nooses and once with guns:shame:, and there are frequent "disturbances" at the stadiums where he plays--to the point that he needs a police escort. Nobody takes the slightest trouble to disguise the racial nature of their hatred, and when another student questions the implacable color-coding on campus, his father complains that this young man isn't race-conscious enough. Still, at the end of the piece, as Jacoby is driven to leave Southern and quit football, the Times appears to endorse the judgment of a gruff black coach who notes that the problem was the quarterback's sensitivity: Another player in the same circumstance would have handled it better, "sucking it up" and getting on with the game.

have watched several baseball games with HBCU schools and half their players are white

Since sports like baseball, softball, etc are not fully funded athletic scholarships, a "minority" scholarship can be extended to a white athlete to makeup the difference. This is especially useful when the white student does not have the grades to qualify for a 1/2 or better academic scholarship.

More often than not the minority scholarship ends up being a full ride for the white athlete. That is why you see so many white athletes on a HBCU baseball or softball team.

I work with a black girl that grew in a town where she was the only black girl in town, she had ZERO issues with race.

Her parents sent her to an HBCU to experience the black "culture."

She lasted ONE semester and she'd had all the "cultcha" she could stand.

One of the nicest ladies I've ever met.

HBCU's are a relic. Isolation by race only breeds ineptitude. Civil Rights Act encouraged integration not sepearation. Move forward to the 21st century.
