But people generally aren't honest with themselves, so everything is going to be ok.

We've been at war around the globe for the last 13 years...politicians and semantics.

If he was pro-caliphate he wouldn't have been trying to force out Morsi for the past year or so. The rise of IS in Iraq is due to Morsi.

Nah. Obama initially hedged his bets on the Muslim Brotherhood. They were, literally, his guests of honor at his 2009 intro to the world Cairo speech.

Now, he'll take what he can get.

I disagree. This group is looking to create one Islamic state, which why they are gaining some many recruits. Hell they would have been fighting there if Sadam was still in power like they are in Syria

Saddam would have gassed their arse, and we would have let him.

France has arrested French nationals coming back to France with intent to carry out attacks. The Brits have just elevated their terror alert to "severe" due to these idiots.

There are confirmed reports of US citizens having been killed fighting for ISIS. We'd better pay attention to what's happening in Europe because it's coming here. Bank on it.

Saddam's tribal family and his Republican guard would be fighting him if he were still in power? Interesting theory.

Saddam may have been part of their "tribe," but Saddam was worried about one thing......his own arse!

Who do you think makes up most of ISIS? Why do you think they've been successful as a fighting force? They're the former Ba'athists and Republican Guard. Their his people from the Sunni Triangle. They were dethroned, dispossessed and this is what they do now.

Wasn't that the bottom line re the 9-11 Committee Report.

Obama should never have left the street version of 'community organizing'. Being POTUS, *community*...*organizing*, can get quite dirty.

Herding cats. Make that hyenas!

Someone with better knowledge on this matter can certainly correct my following comment if it is wrong.

I seem to remember that all of the leaders in power during the Arab Spring were pretty secular and kept the Muslim Fundamentalists in check. Obama verbally encouraged and supported the overthrow of these individuals in the name of democracy but by doing so it also opened the doors for the fundamentalists to seize control.

I posted a video of his UN speech the other day proclaiming support for the Arab Spring. The typical boot lickers proceeded to rip me a new one about it.

They just can't admit their boy fricked up. I mean it's ok to admit that he's not perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. Most everyone I know that supported Bush admits that he made a mistake in Iraq. Ya'll put your big boy pants on and just admit he made a mistake. It's ok.

They are gaining recruits because they've been successful. People follow winners. They've gained recruits in Iraq because the Sunni had been shite on by Morsi. The Sunni's have been fighting back for well over a year. ISIS sees this happening over the border and organizes the sunnis there back to a fighting force.

How the hell was Korea not a war? 30,000 Americans died in that war. Just because war isn't declared doesn't mean it's not a war.

I'm quite flabbergasted at this statement.
Yeah, kinda like when Bush said he didn't know where Bin Laden was and basically didn't care.

Isn't propagana fun?

Perhaps it wasn't on official letterhead, but it was nevertheless policy. As if the seven subsequent years wasn't proof enough.

It was not labeled a 'war' by our government. Same as with ISIS. That's the whole point.
