I just bought my own copy because it’s such an incredible series - but I can’t imagine how Shelby Foote will survive the WOKE MOB...

Watching it makes me really understand the southern POV - by a large majority most in the South quite frankly didn’t have the income to have slaves... the most poignant part is where Foote tells she story of the illiterate rebel soldier when surrounded by several Union soldiers in Tennessee - they tell him “you don’t have any slaves - so what are you fighting for” and the rebel soldier answers quite simply “Cause you’re down here”

The civil war was so much more nuanced and layered then what kids are taught - hell if they are getting rid of the police dog in paw patrol as well as Gone with the Wind - Ken Burns Civil War can’t be fat behind - hell Burns himself may pull it - sad...

I went on Ebay today and bought Gettysburg Director's Cut Blu-ray (have it on DVD currently), God's and Generals (not my favorite but still good) and Gone With the Wind. Looking at Ken Burns Civil War as well.

You have to imagine any type of material that doesn't paint the Confederacy as murdering rapist racists will eventually be removed from any major site like Ebay or Amazon.

So definitely buy the stuff while you can.

The docu series has already been criticized in the past for being too sympathetic to the Confederacy. I would guess that PBS pulls it before the “woke” mob even learns of it. Its by far the best documentary of the Civil War.

RIP Shelby Foote

I don’t know if it is or not but this needs to be preserved in the Library of Congress. I watch it at least once a year. For the sake of humanity I hope this documentary lives on forever.

Burns is very liberal and donates often to democratic campaigns. The series is great and I am amazed he was able to pull it and The Vietnam War off without showing his leanings too much.

I am not sure why we run from history so much. I find it unnerving that some races can celebrate their background and some can’t. It is troubling.

Newt Knight! Movie "Free State of Jones". I named my 12 year old Wire Hair Fox Terrier, "Newt" after him.

Had a happy ending. Could have been more just with some trials / punishment for treason though.

Sadly, it actually left Netflix a couple of months ago. Not because of any controversy, though.
